For eight years Andew Wallace hasheaded the Communications Professionals, Inc., a prime distributor of computer hardware, software, peripherals, custom configuration, netowrk design, and fiber optic cabling for the United States Government agencies. Wallace, who had been a general manager for a computer consulting firm prior to spearheading the CPI idea, is more than some garden variety CEO though. He’s more of a spiritualist come to plant, not so encrypted messages, on the hearts and minds of just about everyone he encounters.
It only took one year for Communications Professionals, Inc. to go from idea to reality. See, Mr. Wallace had a heads up and quite literally, no competition. “1 was exposed to this area of the business when I worked a computer-consulting firm and saw an untapped market that the company wasn’t interested in going after,” he says. Upon discussing the prospect with his family the decision was made to bring CPI to life. Since its inception, Communications Professionals, Inc. has grown by at least 300 percent in an expanding technological market; acquiring government contracts and a business relationship with GM. Wallace attributes the overwhelming success of his company to the synergy of CPI custom software, a tinder utilized market, faith and quality service.

“No one can out service us. We stand out because we cover all warranties, and we are one of just a few companies in Michigan which is 8a certified (a Federal Government certification in the small business arena). Our 8a certification denotes to our customers that we conduct our business in such a way — that we have met and exceed the government’s standards and gained its approval CPI’s success isn’t all about numbers or peripherals or software. There are certain dynamics incorporated into Mr. Wallace’s business plan that have made him and his brainchild winners in the ever-changing rat race. Wallace says. “I find that when you’re completely honest and above board all the time, the customers don’t mind spending money,” he adds, “also, we’ve staffed our company with people who have embraced our vision, we treat our people well, and we help them as they help us.” The company has an extremely low turn over rate that Andrew says, is because he looks for people’s gifts, that thing they can do best so they can be the best at what they do.”

“The thing I really enjoy – is seeing the people the Lord has sent me carry out my vision and that prompts me to help them carry out theirs,” he says adding, “this is a small company, when we hire it’s a decision that everyone in the company makes, every one sits in on the interview and reviews the resume.” “Plus,” says Wallace, many mistakes have been avoided by bringing the whole team in on the interview. There’s wisdom in a multitude of counsel, according to scripture. People need to be happy at work and as Chief Steward; it’s my duty to look after every one he sends me. After all, this is not simply Andrew Wallace’s business, this is God’s business.” Communications Professionals, Inc. has more than the flesh of man at the helm. They’ve got the spirit of one Mr. Andrew Wallace, heaven-bent on living out the will of the Creator. One who both consciously and subconsciously recites a mantra whose words mandate that when you operate in your gift, people need to hear it. The Lord has seen fit to put Andrew in a position where he could be heard. While this modern day diviner is wading in the current thickness of a steady client roster he’s also busy saving marriages and helping people become comfortable in their own skin. “God has given me insight and from that 1 have helped people create businesses and realize their dreams, it’s been phenomenal – there’s no greater joy,” declares Wallace. The man with the entrepreneurial spirit and a head filled with great initiatives isn’t about personal glory. He gives all the glory to the Architect of the Universe; in fact he attributes every ounce of his success to the One who sketched the Greatest Design. “The Lord uses me, and that comes from operating in my gift, I am simply a communicator.” Mr. Wallace says that while everything so far has been wonderful and amazing, there have been challenges. Keeping a healthy balance between his spiritual life and his professional life is paramount. According to Andrew, there is no separation between the two. “My spiritual and professional lives are intertwined. I don’t leave the Christian me at home, the first thing I am is a man of God.” He admits that just recently was he able to maintain a steady absorbance of the Word, spending time before God with his wife of 29 years and taking care of his two children. In keeping with the type of person Andrew Wallace is striving to be, the challenge of being a Christian entrepreneur in a seemingly not so Christian world environment is a task he joyfully con-fronts.
Mr. Wallace is therefore unashamed of who and what he stands for, proud to acknowledge the God who resides in the center of all he is, all he does in the future we can expect to see Communications Professionals, Inc. changing lives and how people do business in Washington (DC), Huntsville, (AL), and wherever the Lord may lead. In addition, Wallace aspires to teach. “I would love to take young men, get them at the right age and teach them to be Godly, show them that there are many examples to inspire them and to fulfill their dreams,” he says then, after a brief pause, “someone needs to help young people channel their energy and desire in the right direction, young black men especially need to know that failure is not an option.”

“God has given me insight and from that I have helped people birth businesses and realize their dreams, it’s been phenomenal, there’s no greater joy,”

God is good all the time. Meeting Mr. Andrew Wallace of Communications Professionals, Inc. was truly a divine intervention worthy of the words, time and ink spent writing this article. This was no mere chance encounter; no reporter sent on assignment… it was Chief Counsel setting me up with fate. At the end of our interview turned in-depth spiritual serendipitous encounter Andrew had this to say to new business people with new ventures in the works: “Always think the best, let the other person win every now and then, be happy for folks when they’re doing well. When you are successful, it’s no fun being successful by yourself.” Truly words to live by and words upon which any business could and should stand.
